This interdisciplinary doctoral program integrates the fields of history, literature, and philosophy, with a strong emphasis on cross-disciplinary research. Centered on Taiwan Studies and Chinese Studies, the program adopts an East Asian perspective to explore historical transitions from tradition to modernity, cultural and intellectual developments, and the multifaceted interactions between East Asia and the wider world. The program is supported by a distinguished faculty of over 100 scholars from Academia Sinica, National Chengchi University, and National Tsing Hua University. It offers a wide range of courses and personalized academic guidance. In addition to solid training in the humanities, students are encouraged to develop their research interests, cultivate independent thinking, and pursue original, cross-disciplinary research. Our goal is to nurture the next generation of humanistic scholars with global perspectives and academic excellence. All admitted students will have full access to the rich academic resources of the three partner institutions and may be awarded scholarships for up to five years. 東亞與現代世界形成國際研究生博士學位學程橫跨歷史、文學與哲學三大領域,致力於推動深度的跨領域人文研究。學程以臺灣研究與中國研究為核心,從東亞視角出發,深入探討傳統與現代之間的歷史轉變、思想文化特色,以及東亞與世界的多重交流脈絡。 本學程擁有逾百位來自中央研究院、國立政治大學與國立清華大學各研究單位的優秀師資,提供豐富多元的課程內容與研究指導。除了扎實的學術訓練,師資團隊亦重視學生的研究興趣發展,協助其培養獨立思考與創新研究的能力。 我們致力於培養具備國際視野與學術專業的人文學術人才。所有錄取學生皆可充分利用三校的豐富學術資源,並有機會獲得最長五年的獎學金支持。   網頁連結/ Website link:https://eamw.mh.sinica.edu.tw

Notice: Regarding the 114th Academic Year First Semester Subsidy for Students of the College of Liberal Arts to Participate in International Affairs Subsidy Period This subsidy is available for students traveling abroad from January 1, 2025, to December 31, 2025.   Eligibility Applications are open to undergraduate, master's, and doctoral students of the College of Liberal Arts, with preference given to graduate students. Students participating in international teams organized by departments under the College of Liberal Arts as part of the International Talent Development Program are not eligible to apply for this subsidy. Since the funding comes from the Ministry of Education, students from Mainland China are not eligible to apply. Additionally, applicants who have already received funding from the Office of Research and Development are not eligible for duplicate subsidies.   Application Deadline Applications must be submitted by 5:00 PM on October 13, 2025 (Monday).   Required Documents for Application: Application form for participation in international affairs, signed and sealed by the department head (Attachment 1). Invitation letter or proof of acceptance. (For non-presentation, short-term research, or exchange students, such as reviewers or conference participants, approval will be subject to the review committee's decision.) Abstract of the paper to be presented. If not attending an academic conference, a research project description must be submitted. Description of any internal or external funding applications and a copy of the subsidy notification. The 3rd Kyoto KPU Summer Seminar Host: Kyoto Prefectural University International Centre Event: The 3rd Kyoto KPU Summer Seminar Time: Scheduled to be held from 4 to 9 August, 2025 Target: Students from schools with cooperative agreements who have been studying Japanese for more than one year. Language: Classes will be divided into Japanese language classes in the morning and cultural activities (such as Japanese dancing, tea ceremony, etc.) in the afternoon. Japanese classes will be conducted in Japanese and cultural activities will be conducted in English. Fees: The camp will cover the cost of accommodation (approximately 10,000 yen per day for 7 nights) and cultural activities (approximately 10,000 yen). This camp is organised to promote exchanges with partner schools, and the course itself is free of charge. Participants: Last year, students from Taiwan's partner schools, including National Cheng Kung University and Yishou University, participated.
