[College of Liberal Arts] 2026 College of Liberal Arts Outstanding Student Scholarship Now Open for Applications (Deadline: April 17, 2026) To encourage students with outstanding academic performance and excellent conduct, the College of Liberal Arts Outstanding Student Scholarship is generously funded by the "Mr. Chen BaiNian Academic Foundation" and the "National Chengchi University Alumni Huang Hui-Mei Scholarship." 1. Eligible Applicants: Current undergraduate, master's, and doctoral degree students enrolled in the College of Liberal Arts. 2. Quota: Approximately 30 students per academic year. 3. Award Amount: Ranging from NT$10,000 to NT$15,000 per student per academic year. 4. Qualifications: Applicants must meet all the following criteria: Current degree student (Undergraduate, Master's, or PhD) in the College of Liberal Arts. Hold a low-income or middle-low-income status, be a child from a family in special circumstances, be experiencing sudden severe family hardship, OR have an annual household income below NT$900,000. Have achieved an average academic grade of 80 or above and a conduct grade of 'A' in the previous academic year. (First-year students may submit their grades from the previous semester). 5. Application Method: Submit the physical application form and all required documents to the College of Liberal Arts Office before 5:00 PM on April 17, 2026. 6. Required Documents: Application Form: Downloadable from the College website. (Note: Must be signed/stamped by the Chair of your department/program before submission). Original Transcripts and Certificate of Enrollment: Official academic and conduct transcripts from the previous academic year, along with a valid certificate of enrollment. (First-year students may provide transcripts from the previous semester). Proof of Financial Hardship / Supporting Materials: Documents can include: Official government-issued certificates (e.g., low-income, middle-low-income, or special circumstance family certificate). Comprehensive income tax data list from the National Taxation Bureau for the entire household from the most recently completed tax year. Full household registration transcript or a copy of the new household certificate. For Overseas Chinese Students: A credible official certificate of financial hardship. 7. Application Deadline: April 17, 2026 (Friday) before 5:00 PM. 8. Submission Location: College of Liberal Arts Office (Room 330217, 2nd Floor, BaiNian Building). Top2026 College of Liberal Arts Subsidy for Students Participating in International Affairs 1. Subsidy Period: Students traveling abroad between January 1, 2026, and December 31, 2026, are eligible to apply. 2. Eligible Applicants: Current undergraduate, master's, and doctoral students of the College of Liberal Arts (Priority is given to master's and doctoral students). Important Notes: Students participating in overseas groups under the College's International Talent Cultivation Program cannot apply for this subsidy. As the funding comes from the Ministry of Education (MOE), students from Mainland China are not eligible to apply. Travel expenses to Mainland China will not be subsidized. Students who have already applied for subsidies from the Office of Research and Development (ORD) will not receive duplicate funding from the College. Eligible students are highly encouraged to prioritize applying for the University's “Global Top 1000 Student Study Scholarship Program” (Deadline: March 6, 2026, Click here for details). 3. Application Deadline: Before 5:00 PM on August 31, 2026 (Monday) Rules: Subsidies are limited to once per year. Applications can be submitted before or after the international event. Timeline: Submissions close on August 31. Applications will be reviewed at the executive meeting in early September, followed by an email notification of the results. Reimbursement: Approved applicants must complete the reimbursement process within 7 days of receiving the notification email or returning to Taiwan. Failure to do so within the time limit will be considered a forfeiture of the subsidy. If you encounter any special circumstances, please contact the coordinator immediately. 4. Required Documents: Application Form: Must be signed or stamped by the Chair/Director of your department/program (See Attachment 1). Letter of Invitation / Acceptance Notification: (Note: For non-presentations, short-term research, or exchange programs—such as acting as a commentator or general attendee—approval will be determined by the review committee). Paper Abstract: If attending a non-academic conference, please submit a research plan instead. Funding Application Records: An explanation of any internal/external funding applications, or a copy of the notification letter of subsidy results. Other Supporting Documents: E.g., Full text of the paper, related publications, or proof of foreign language proficiency. 5. This interdisciplinary doctoral program integrates the fields of history, literature, and philosophy, with a strong emphasis on cross-disciplinary research. Centered on Taiwan Studies and Chinese Studies, the program adopts an East Asian perspective to explore historical transitions from tradition to modernity, cultural and intellectual developments, and the multifaceted interactions between East Asia and the wider world. The program is supported by a distinguished faculty of over 100 scholars from Academia Sinica, National Chengchi University, and National Tsing Hua University. It offers a wide range of courses and personalized academic guidance. In addition to solid training in the humanities, students are encouraged to develop their research interests, cultivate independent thinking, and pursue original, cross-disciplinary research. Our goal is to nurture the next generation of humanistic scholars with global perspectives and academic excellence.
